Taught RE is very pleased to be supporting the work of Hope Uganda. All profits from the book, the projects and any other materials and initiatives will go to the work at Lukaya in Uganda.
Hope Uganda (HUG) is the UK administrative and fundraising arm of Hope Destitute Children’s Centre; the Ugandan charity helping emancipate destitute children & equipping teenagers with vocational skills.
Hope Destitute Children’s Centre (HDCC) was the vision of Aloysious Kirangwa. Having survived on the streets as a teenager he was rescued and sponsored to go to secondary school. He completed his studies and went for further education studying building & civil engineering. It was here that he felt the desire to help young people in need; people who were suffering how he had suffered. He became a visionary for destitute young people; they could not go to school but by self-help he enabled them to build their own school and build hope into their lives.
Over the last 15 years, this self-help initiative has been remarkably successful in taking four-year-old children off the street and nurturing them.
